Food Allergies
A food allergy reaction occurs when your immune system overreacts to a food or a substance in a food, identifying it as a danger and triggering a protective response. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and can include hives, itching, swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, difficulty breathing and a drop in blood pressure. Common food allergens include peanut, milk, egg, wheat, soy, tree nuts, shellfish and fish.
